The structural core is built to last: G90 marine-grade galvanized steel framing supports the entire assembly, while a 304 stainless steel enclosure surrounds the fireplace opening. The exterior cladding uses Hardiebacker fiber cement board, a material chosen for its dimensional stability and resistance to the heat and moisture cycles that come with any serious fireplace installation. The overall unit measures 108 inches wide, 48 inches tall, and 18.5 inches deep — substantial enough to anchor a feature wall, compact enough in depth to work in spaces where a traditional masonry build would be impractical.

Power comes from the included BI766 Crystal Fire Plus burner insert, rated at 100,000 BTU. The IPI (intermittent pilot) valve system keeps the pilot off when the fireplace isn't in use, which is a meaningful efficiency detail on a unit of this output. Ignition is handled by a Direct Spark Electronic system — no standing pilot, no manual lighting ritual. Natural gas inlet pressure requirements are 4.5" WC minimum and 10.5" WC maximum.

Installation is designed to meet the fireplace where your project is, not the other way around. Vents and the control panel cut-out come pre-installed, and the unit is compatible with fire media products for customizing the flame presentation. Hard-pipe installation is recommended for a unit of this scale.
