The Outdoor GreatRoom Company RLFP-40DNG is a 72"-wide, single-sided outdoor gas fireplace built on a G90 marine-grade galvanized steel frame — the same corrosion-resistant steel spec used in demanding coastal and wet environments. The interior enclosure is lined with #304 stainless steel, the burner is #304 stainless as well, and the enclosure board is Hardiebacker fiber cement, a combination that takes outdoor exposure seriously without asking you to do the same maintenance.

At 80,000 BTUs, this fireplace means business. The 40" viewing area (20" tall) is wide enough to command a seating arrangement, while the overall 18.5" depth keeps the unit from eating too far into your outdoor living space. Electronic direct spark ignition handles lighting duties cleanly, with no pilot light to babysit.

The "ready to finish" designation is the defining feature here: the enclosure arrives structurally complete but intentionally unfinished on the exterior, giving you full latitude to clad it in stone, tile, stucco, or any finish material that suits your design. A built-in access door at the base accommodates a standard 20 lb propane tank, keeping your LP supply discreetly out of sight for the 40" configuration. Two pre-installed vents (10 sq in each) are already in place. Hard-pipe gas installation is recommended for a permanent setup.

Gas operating pressures are clearly specified: natural gas runs between 6" and 10.5" W.C. (ideal 7"), while liquid propane operates between 8" and 14" W.C. (ideal 11"). Both fuel types are supported by the same unit.

Fire media — tempered fire glass or lava rock — is ordered separately, letting you finish the firebox to match your aesthetic. Optional accessories include a 60-minute timer (PT# CF-DSI-60MT), a 4-hour timer (PT# 4HRTC), a 2D cell battery pack for alternate power (PT# CF-DSI-BP), external controls, emergency stop switches, and standoff kits (RLFP-40-SO) if your installation requires them.
