The Montigo L42DF is a 42-inch see-through linear gas fireplace built around a 2nd Generation linear burner rated at 34,000 BTU. Its clean-face design means no visible louvers or grilles interrupting the sightline — just a broad 39½" × 20¼" glass opening framed by a black rectangular tempered-glass door on each side, delivering an unobstructed flame view from two rooms at once.

Ignition is handled by a SIT Electronic Intermittent Pilot Ignition (IPI) system paired with the Proflame 2 BASIC control platform. The pilot only runs when the fireplace is in use, which keeps operating costs honest. A Hi/Lo flame control lets you adjust output by up to 30% in either direction — enough range to take the edge off a cool evening without turning the adjacent dining room into a sauna.

Venting runs through a 5"/8" direct-vent system convertible to either top or rear exit, giving installers real flexibility when planning the rough-in. The framing dimensions — 45" wide, 40" tall, 23¾" deep — accommodate a range of wall and partition configurations for both new construction and remodel applications.

The L42DF is compatible with optional fan kits that circulate conditioned air into the living space, and an optional multi-function remote control and battery backup are available for those who'd rather not get up from the sofa to adjust the flame (no judgment). Decorative media options include Ice fireglass, firestones, speckled stones, and driftwood, so the firebox itself can be finished to suit the surrounding interior rather than defaulting to the expected look.
