The Montigo Divine HL38 is a peninsula-configuration direct vent gas fireplace built around a clean-face, flush-mount frame that lets you finish the surround however you like — brick, stone, large-format tile — without fighting the unit's footprint. The frame disappears into your design; the fire does not.

At 34,000 BTU/hr, the HL38 carries enough output to serve as a genuine heat source, not just a mood prop. The linear burner sits beneath a bed of firestones and glass beads, producing a wide, low flame ribbon that reads well from all three viewing angles — a detail that matters considerably more in a peninsula installation than it would in a standard single-face fireplace.

Ignition and flame management run through Montigo's Proflame 2 IPI (Intermittent Pilot Ignition) system. The pilot lights on demand rather than burning continuously, thermostatic control keeps the room at a set temperature without you thinking about it, and flame modulation lets you dial the fire up or down to taste. A remote control is included. Battery backup means an unexpected power outage won't leave you staring at a cold glass box — a small detail that earns its keep on exactly the nights you'd most want the fire running.

Venting runs through a standard 5"/8" direct vent system, with the option to route from the top or the rear of the unit. That flexibility is useful when working around structural constraints in a peninsula installation, where running vent in a single fixed direction is rarely possible. The HL38PFNI-2 is compatible with standard Montigo 5"/8" direct vent components and terminations, and shares its burner and gas valve parts with the H38PF series — RGC1006 valve, RBH3801 burner, and RPA020 pilot on natural gas — which simplifies long-term serviceability.

This is the second-generation successor to the HL38DF-PFC model, carrying forward the same peninsula geometry and clean-face philosophy with the updated Proflame 2 control platform.
