The DelRay Square starts with a genuine 34-inch viewing area — framed at 36" wide by 40½" tall and 18" deep — so the firebox proportions do real visual work in the room rather than disappearing into the surround. The satin black painted finish keeps the aesthetic clean and contemporary without demanding a particular design direction from the rest of the space.
At 18,000 BTU/hr with a 65.7% efficiency rating, this is a fireplace calibrated for ambiance and supplemental warmth in living spaces, not a furnace substitute. That's an honest distinction worth making: the DelRay Square rewards rooms where the fire itself is part of the point.
The concealed universal burner is one of the more practically useful features here. It's compatible with both natural gas and propane (conversion kit sold separately), and it switches between traditional log sets and contemporary glass media scenes without requiring a burner swap. That means you're not locked into a single aesthetic the day the unit is installed — change the media, change the mood. Glass media, if selected, must be ordered separately (approximately 4 lbs. required).
Ignition is handled by Proflame 2 IPI, an intermittent pilot system that lights on demand rather than burning a standing pilot around the clock. The included multi-function remote manages Hi-Lo flame control and the remote-controlled fans from across the room, and battery backup ensures the fireplace remains operational if the power goes out — a detail that earns its keep on the first cold, dark evening it's needed.
Halogen downlighting and a micro mesh safety screen are both included as standard equipment. No liner is required for installation, and the unit carries Outdoor Room Approval, making it a legitimate option for covered outdoor living spaces as well as interior applications.
Direct vent operation uses a 4"/7" vent system with a maximum total vent run of 34 feet (vertical plus horizontal combined), up to 32 feet vertical and 25 feet horizontal independently. The unit is elevation-rated up to 4,500 feet, which covers a meaningful range of mountain and high-altitude installations where other appliances sometimes struggle. It's also compatible with Montigo's heat management systems and Cool Wall solutions for installations where managing cabinet and wall temperatures is a design priority.
Model DRSQ34NI-2 ships ready for natural gas. Propane conversion is available via separate kit. Media systems must be ordered separately.
