The Fire Magic Aurora A540I is built around three cast 304 stainless steel E-burners — each a full quarter-inch thick — producing a combined 63,000 BTU across a 540 square inch primary cooking surface. That surface is fitted with Diamond Sear cooking grids, a trapezoid-pattern 304 stainless steel design engineered to maximize contact and produce defined sear marks without sacrificing heat circulation.
On the left side, an 18,000 BTU infrared burner handles high-heat searing duty independently of the main burners. When you need a hard crust on a thick-cut steak or a proper char on a butterflied leg of lamb, the dedicated sear zone earns its place. The rest of the grill carries on at whatever temperature the task demands — this is a machine that can do two things at once without compromise.
Ignition is handled by Hot Surface Ignition (HSI), which requires a 120 VAC power connection — the same connection that powers the two interior halogen lights and the LED backlit comfort touch control knobs. The lights are a practical detail that pays dividends the moment you're grilling past sunset and need to actually see what's happening on the grates. The analog thermometer, framed in a polished stainless steel bezel, reads up to 1,000°F — a range that leaves nothing to guesswork.
The double-walled hood opens to a full 90 degrees and is spring-assisted, so it stays where you put it. The 240 square inch warming rack is adjustable between two positions, giving you flexibility when you're managing multiple proteins or holding finished food while the rest of the cook catches up. Drip management is handled by a disposable drip tray system — straightforward, and easy to maintain between sessions.
Construction throughout is 304 stainless steel: the exterior panels, the flavor grids (16-gauge), the burners, and the cooking grates. At 190 lbs and with a cutout requirement of 32 inches wide by 19.5 inches deep by 12 inches tall, this is a permanent installation piece. It is designed for countertop or island integration, not weekend portability.
The A540I is compatible with an optional backburner and rotisserie kit (sold separately), and accepts the Fire Magic griddle (model 3515A), charcoal/smoker basket (model 3564-1), and insulating liner (model 23150-52) — all sold separately. The infrastructure is there for the grill to grow with how you cook.
