The Tahoe Premium 42-inch direct-vent fireplace from Empire Comfort Systems is built around a slope glaze burner and a generous 22 × 36½-inch tempered glass viewing window — dimensions that make a real visual statement on any wall. At 28,000 BTU maximum input (propane), this unit is engineered to heat a substantial space, not just warm the room's feelings about itself.

Millivolt control with a standing pilot and piezo igniter keeps operation straightforward and self-sufficient. Because the system doesn't rely on household electricity to function, ignition remains available during power outages — a detail worth appreciating the first time a winter storm rolls through. A battery remote (FRBC) or a simple wall switch (FWS1) can be added for convenient on/off control, both sold separately.

Venting options — 5 × 8 top or rear — give installers meaningful flexibility in routing, which matters when you're working within the realities of an existing wall or chase. Framing dimensions of 37¾ inches high by 43⅜ inches wide by 19⅞ inches deep, with a 20-inch fireplace depth, provide the structural reference points your builder or installer will need from the start.
