The Empire Tahoe DVP36FP30N is a 36-inch direct-vent natural gas fireplace built around a millivolt control system — which means it operates entirely without household electricity, a practical advantage when the power flickers on the coldest night of the year. At 26,000 BTU input and 83% steady-state efficiency, it converts the overwhelming majority of its fuel into room-warming heat rather than sending it up the flue.
Inside the firebox, a herringbone ceramic fiber brick liner gives the interior the textured, authentic character of a masonry fireplace — at a fraction of the weight and installation complexity. The unit ships complete with a log set, burner, and tempered glass, so the core of your fireplace arrives ready to be framed in and finished. The 32.5" x 22" tempered glass viewing area frames a generous 25.06" x 36" interior opening — a genuinely wide, unobstructed view of the fire.
Framing dimensions run 37.75" H x 39.375" W x 19.87" D, with a full fireplace footprint of 37.62" H x 39" W x 19.87" D. The 4" x 6.62" venting collar accommodates a standard direct-vent termination setup. At 136 lbs, installation is a two-person job — plan accordingly.
Important: A barrier screen or door set is required to complete this unit and is not included in the box. Three compatible finishing options are available separately: the Fireplace Barrier Screen in 36" Tall Matte Black (DVFB36TBL), the Decorative Door Set (DVDB36CBL), or the Frame with Barrier Screen (DVWB36BL). Selecting the right finishing piece is the last step between an installation and a finished fireplace — don't forget to add one.
