Empire Tahoe Deluxe 42" Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

The Tahoe Deluxe 42" centers its case on a 40" wide by 25-1/16" tall viewing area — a genuinely large firebox opening that lets the flame do the talking. Behind that heat-resistant tempered glass sits a contour tube-style burner and a 7-piece ceramic fiber log set, each piece hand-painted to replicate the irregular grain and char of real wood. It's the kind of detail you notice on day one and still appreciate years later.

Heat output runs between 18,000 and 25,000 BTU, with an 83% efficiency rating that means most of that energy ends up in your room rather than your flue. The Intermittent Pilot Ignition (IPI) system lights on demand and shuts off the pilot when the fireplace isn't in use — a small convenience that adds up over a heating season.

Installation is direct vent, drawing combustion air from outside and exhausting through a dedicated sealed flue using 4" x 6-5/8" DuraVent pipe. The rough framing footprint is 43-1/2" wide by 37-3/4" tall by 16-1/2" deep, with a 16" depth requirement — a profile manageable enough for most new construction or remodel situations. The exterior can be finished with tile or any non-combustible material for a fully built-in look.

Four ceramic fiber liner options are available separately — Aged Brick, Herringbone, Stacked Limestone, and Black Reflective — so the firebox interior can match the aesthetic of the surround rather than fighting it. Matte black slat louvers frame the face with a clean, understated finish. An optional blower kit and trim kits are also available for those who want additional airflow or a specific surround profile.

A barrier screen or door set with barrier is required and sold separately — a detail worth planning into the project budget from the start. The unit is UL Listed and carries approvals for bedroom, bathroom, and mobile home installations, which broadens where in a home or property it can be placed. Propane inlet pressure requirements run between 10.5 and 14 inches water column.
