Empire Tahoe 36" Direct Vent Peninsula Gas Fireplace

Three sides of fire. That's the premise of the Empire Tahoe DVP36PP32EN, a 36-inch peninsula direct vent gas fireplace built for spaces where a conventional front-only unit simply doesn't do justice to the room. Two long glass panels at 32½" W × 22" H and one end panel at 17½" W × 22" H create an open, wraparound flame view that commands attention from multiple vantage points.

At the heart of the firebox sits a 24-inch Slope Glaze Vista Burner, operating between 24,000 and 35,000 BTU/hr. That range gives you meaningful flexibility — enough low-end warmth for a mild evening, and enough top-end output to handle a genuinely cold room. The millivolt control system with standing pilot means no electrical hookup is required, which simplifies installation and keeps the fireplace fully functional during a power outage.

The interior is finished with a banded brick ceramic fiber liner, a detail that contributes both visual depth and thermal performance. All glazing is tempered, and the framing dimensions — 39" wide, 41⅛" tall, and 24" deep — are designed to accommodate standard zero-clearance peninsula builds. Side and end combustible clearances are just ½", and both floor and top stand-off clearances are 0", which means the unit fits cleanly into a wide range of architectural configurations without requiring excessive buffer space.

Venting runs through a 4" × 6⅝" direct vent pipe system. Maximum horizontal vent run is 20 feet; minimum vertical run is 8 feet. The DVVK-4FV Vertical Flex Vent Kit is a compatible accessory for installations where routing flexibility matters. UL File MH30033 confirms the unit meets established safety certification standards.

A note on what's included and what's not: the DVP36PP32EN ships as the fireplace chassis. A compatible barrier screen and log set are required to complete the installation and are sold separately. Optional accessories — including blower kits (FBB5), remote control options (FRBC, FRBTC, FRBTP), and mantel components from the EMPT series — allow you to configure the system precisely to your project's needs without paying for features you don't want at the outset.

The 3-year limited warranty covers the unit, and the UL listing provides additional assurance for installers and inspectors alike.
