American Fyre Designs Marseille Fire Bowl, 40" GFRC

The Marseille Fire Bowl is built from Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete — a material that earns its place outdoors not through luck, but through genuine structural integrity and weather resistance. At 40" in diameter and just 11" tall, it sits low and wide, commanding attention without dominating a space. The 90 lb weight tells you everything about the density and quality of the casting.

At the heart of the bowl sits a 16" stainless steel star-shaped burner rated at 65,000 BTU. That output is enough to hold a serious flame even when the evening cools down, and the star configuration distributes fire in a way that looks deliberate rather than accidental. Ignition is handled via a manual flame-sensing system, keeping operation straightforward and reliable. The unit is ANSI certified, so it's not just impressive to look at — it's built to a recognized safety standard.

This model runs on propane. The tank does not live inside the bowl itself, but the compatible Tank/End Table (sold separately) is designed specifically to house the propane tank nearby while pulling double duty as outdoor furniture. A shut-off valve, also not included, must be installed within 6 feet of the unit — worth noting before installation day arrives.

One of the more compelling aspects of the Marseille is how much creative latitude it gives you once the hardware is sorted. The bowl accepts an impressive range of decorative media: Fyre Glass in multiple colors (available in 80 lb quantities), lava granules, volcanic stones, river stones, creekstones, and concrete wood chunks or branches for a more naturalistic look. Log sets are also compatible when paired with a lava media base. The fire can look entirely different depending on what fills the bowl — which means it can look entirely different from your neighbor's, too.

For protection between uses, the Marseille Fire Bowl is compatible with the 40" Marseille protective cover (Model 8141A), sold separately. Given the investment, it's the kind of accessory worth adding to the cart at the same time.
