American Fyre Designs Marseille 48" GFRC Firebowl in Smoke

The Marseille Firebowl from American Fyre Designs is built from Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete — a material chosen specifically because outdoor fire features have no business being fragile. The GFRC shell is paired with a refractory cement interior that handles sustained heat without complaint, and the whole assembly comes in at 195 lbs, which is the kind of weight that communicates permanence rather than portability.

At 48 inches in diameter and 10.5 inches in height, the Marseille occupies a commanding footprint. The low profile keeps sightlines open across the bowl while the fire itself does the work — fed by a 16-inch star stainless steel burner rated at 65,000 BTU on propane. That burner geometry produces a broad, multi-point flame pattern rather than a single central column, which reads as considerably more dramatic from any angle around the bowl.

Ignition is handled by a manual flame sensing control with a piezo igniter — a straightforward, reliable system with no external power requirement. For those who prefer a more refined experience, an optional 110V All Weather Electronic Ignition System (AWEIS) with remote control is available separately, allowing flame adjustment without leaving your seat. Both options use the same burner and bowl; the ignition system is the only variable.

A water spout is included as a standard feature — not an add-on — and an internal riser elevates the burner for improved flame presentation. The Smoke finish reads as a warm, weathered grey that integrates readily with natural stone, concrete, and darker hardscape palettes without fighting for attention.

The Marseille is compatible with the Model 8143A 48-inch Round Firetable/Bowl Cover for weather protection when the bowl is not in use. Two pedestal options — models 8644 and 8654 — are available separately if ground-level placement isn't preferred. The bowl is also available in natural gas configuration for permanent installations connected to a gas line.
