At 67 inches wide, 37 inches deep, and a commanding 96 inches tall, the American Fyre Designs Contractor's Model is not a fireplace that tries to finish your design work for you — it hands you the pen. Cast in Glass-Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) and delivered in a White Concrete finish, this freestanding unit is engineered from the ground up as a customizable substrate, ready to accept stone, tile, brick, stucco, or virtually any veneer material your project calls for.
The GFRC construction is the real story here. It delivers the structural integrity and thermal performance of concrete without the prohibitive weight of solid poured stone, making job-site handling and placement significantly more practical. The cast construction means consistent wall thickness and a dimensionally stable shell — exactly what a finish material needs to bond to reliably and look right for years.
Installation is freestanding, so there's no need to frame into a wall opening or pour a dedicated footing structure. The gas valve is positioned on the right side of the unit, with the gas supply line routed out the back — a thoughtful layout that keeps the front and sides clean during the finishing process and allows tradespeople to rough in the gas line before the veneer goes on. The fireplace runs on either Natural Gas or Liquid Propane, with fuel type selected at the time of purchase.
This model is designed for projects where the fireplace is just the beginning of the conversation. Builders, designers, and homeowners who want full creative control over the surround aesthetic will find that the Contractor's Model exists precisely to stay out of the way — structurally sound, dimensionally generous, and entirely neutral until you decide otherwise.
A range of compatible accessories is available separately, including gas logs, decorative stones, lava media, wind guards, and protective covers. Finishing materials, veneer, and installation labor are not included and should be sourced and specified per project requirements.
If your design calls for a fireplace that does its structural job quietly and lets the surround do the talking, this is a well-considered starting point — 67 inches of concrete canvas, standing nearly eight feet tall and waiting for what comes next.
